After seeing a three-game unbeaten run come to an end, the Eagles take on Liverpool this weekend, hoping to find an unlikely maiden win. Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool begins at 12:30 [GMT+1] on Saturday, October 5, at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace are one of the five sides yet to win a Premier League match this season. They came close to finding their maiden win in the trip to Everton after taking the lead inside the first ten minutes, but a brace from Dwight McNeil [47’, 54’] flipped the game on its head. The defeat brought an end to a three-game unbeaten run, although all three were draws [LDDDL]. With the loss, Palace dropped further down the table to 18th place with only three points after six games [0W, 3D, 3L]. Despite the odds, Palace will be looking to find an unlikely maiden victory here, although the Eagles have lost 11 of their last 14 Premier League meetings with Liverpool [1W, 2D, 11L]. In addition to a poor H2H record against the Reds, another piece of poor record could stand in the way of earning a point. Crystal Palace have conceded more Premier League goals against Liverpool than they have against any other opponent. A 3—4—3 with Eddie Nketiah, Mateta, and Eberechi Eze in attack may be seen. Oliver Glasner will be without Cheick Doucouré and three others for this early kickoff encounter.

Liverpool picked up a 2-0 win over Bologna to stay 6th on the UCL league phase table, thanks to goals from Alexis Mac Allister [11’] and Mohamed Salah [75’], who created the assist for the first goal. 'I don't draw many conclusions from that, but it is nice. So many incredible managers have worked here, doing so many special things,' Arne Slot said after he became the first Liverpool boss in history to win eight of his first nine matches in charge. That win left Liverpool with five victories in a row across all competitions [WWWWW], with their only defeat coming in a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest just before UCL Match Day 1. Back in the Premier League, table-topping Liverpool [WWLWW], who picked up a 2-1 win over Wolves last weekend, will be in search of three wins in a row when they make the trip to face Palace. A fine run of form on the road against the home side could see Liverpool remain at the top of the table having gone unbeaten in nine games at Selhurst Park [8W, 1D, 0L]. A 4—2—3—1 with Darwin Núñez in attack is expected. Federico Chiesa is a candidate for a late assessment.
