The Bundesliga battle between FC Augsburg and St. Pauli kicked off with a goalless first half at WWK Arena on Sunday. However, St. Pauli's dominant second-half display propelled them to a convincing 3-1 triumph.

The first half was goalless, but straight after half-time, Marius Wolf made his mark as he netted, with an assist by Samuel Essende, to give FC Augsburg the lead.

In the 66th minute, Phillip Tietz increased the lead for FC Augsburg, with an assist by Frank Onyeka.

Carlo Boukhalfa reduced the score for St. Pauli in the 75th minute with an assist by Elias Saad.

The 3-1 goal came in extra time, when Yusuf Kabadayi found the net for FC Augsburg, with an assist by Kristijan Jakić.

Looking at the table, we find FC Augsburg in 11th place, while St. Pauli are in 17th place.

FC Augsburg play FSV Mainz 05 on 20 September, RB Leipzig on 28 September and Borussia Mönchengladbach (home) on 4 October. St. Pauli's next opponents are RB Leipzig on 22 September, SC Freiburg on 28 September and FSV Mainz 05 (home) on 5 October.
