The second-half goal from Hudson-Odoi was to be the only goal of the game when Nottingham Forest won 1-0 away to Liverpool in the Premier League.

The first half finished 0-0, and it took until the 72nd minute before Callum Hudson-Odoi gave Nottingham Forest the lead as he netted, with an assist by Anthony Elanga.

It was Nottingham Forest's first victory away to Liverpool in 55 years.

'We lost the ball so many times in simple positions," Arne Slot said. 'It wasn't good enough, too many individual performances were not of the standard I'm used to. It's a big setback,' he added after his first defeat as Liverpool boss.

Nottingham Forest are now in fourth place, while Liverpool are in second place.

Liverpool's next Premier League games are against AFC Bournemouth (home) on 21 September, Wolverhampton Wanderers (away) on 28 September and Crystal Palace (away) on 5 October. Nottingham Forest play Brighton & Hove Albion (away) on 22 September, Fulham (home) on 28 September and Chelsea (away) on 6 October.
