VfB Stuttgart triumphed with a 3-1 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach in Saturday's Bundesliga clash on away turf at Stadion im Borussia-Park.
VfB Stuttgart took an early lead when Deniz Undav netted after 21 minutes, with an assist by Jamie Leweling, making it 1-0.
Borussia Mönchengladbach equalised to make it 1-1, when Alassane Pléa found the net, with an assist by Kevin Stöger, in the 27th minute.
With 58 minutes on the clock, VfB Stuttgart's Ermedin Demirović found the net following a Fabian Rieder assist to give VfB Stuttgart the lead.
With nearly 30 minutes remaining, VfB Stuttgart's Fabian Rieder set up Ermedin Demirović to double the lead.
The result means Borussia Mönchengladbach are now in 11th place in the table and that VfB Stuttgart are ninth in the league.
Borussia Mönchengladbach play Eintracht Frankfurt on 21 September, FC Union Berlin on 28 September and FC Augsburg (away) on 4 October. VfB Stuttgart's next opponents are Borussia Dortmund on 22 September, VfL Wolfsburg on 28 September and TSG Hoffenheim (home) on 6 October.
