Girona Claims Win, Preventing Sevilla from Scoring

A stellar showing by Girona saw them score two goals and shut out Sevilla in the La Liga clash at Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán. The away team secured a dominant 2-0 win to claim victory.

Girona took the lead just before half time when Iván Martín netted, with an assist by Miguel Gutiérrez.

It took until the 73rd minute before Abel Ruíz increased the lead.

The game was the fourth in a row without a win for Sevilla.

Girona are now in fifth place, while Sevilla are in 19th place.

Sevilla play Getafe on 14 September, Deportivo Alavés on 22 September and Real Valladolid (home) on 25 September. Girona's next opponents are FC Barcelona on 15 September, Valencia on 22 September and Rayo Vallecano (home) on 25 September.
