The away side Deportivo Alavés won a tightgame against Real Sociedad at Anoeta Stadium. The team won 2-1 in the La Liga on Wednesday.

Real Sociedad were left with a man down early on, when Mikel Oyarzabal was sent off in the 29th minute.

In the 32nd minute, Brais Méndez scored, with an assist by Sergio Gómez, to give Real Sociedad a 1-0 lead in what had been a goalless match.

Deportivo Alavés equalised 1-1 just before the half-time whistle as Asier Villalibre made his mark with a penalty.

Toni Martínez scored the decider in the 77th minute to complete Deportivo Alavés' come back.

For Real Sociedad, this means 13th place in the table, while Deportivo Alavés are 10th in the league.

Real Sociedad play Getafe on 1 September, Real Madrid on 15 September and Real Valladolid (away) on 22 September. Deportivo Alavés' next opponents are Las Palmas on 1 September, Espanyol on 15 September and Sevilla (home) on 22 September.
