Friday's Bundesliga encounter saw Bayer 04 Leverkusen claim a comprehensive 3-2 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach at Stadion im Borussia-Park.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen started the match best and took the lead early when Granit Xhaka netted after 12 minutes, making it 1-0.

In the 38th minute Florian Wirtz increased the lead for Bayer 04 Leverkusen with an assist by Alejandro Grimaldo.

Borussia Mönchengladbach's Nico Elvedi also reduced the score for Borussia Mönchengladbach in the 59th minute.

With only five minutes left to play, Borussia Mönchengladbach's Tim Kleindienst equalised, with an assist by Kevin Stöger.

The deciding goal came in stoppage time, when Florian Wirtz found the net for Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
