Iran and New Zealand ended their World Cup opening duel with a 2-2 draw at Los Angeles Stadium.

New Zealand scored the first goal when Elijah Just netted after 7 minutes, with an assist by Chris Wood , making it 1-0.

Iran equalised to make it 1-1 when Ramin Rezaeian found the net with an assist by Shahriar Moghanlou in the 32nd minute.

In the 54th minute Elijah Just gave New Zealand the lead, with an assist by Chris Wood.

With 64 minutes on the clock Iran's Mohammad Mohebi found the net following a Ramin Rezaeian assist to equalise.

Iran's next World Cup games are against Belgium on 21 June and Egypt on 27 June. New Zealand play Egypt on 22 June and Belgium on 27 June.
